Say goodbye to your mommas, we're going to the Bahamas.

Hello Blog readers,

It’s the night before the Bahama’s, a night of stress, excitement, and last minute shopping. All of the semesters has been leading up to this point. From learning about plate-tectonics and physical oceanography to discovering the rich history of Marine Science. We went through a lot during the rotation, but the trip jitters didn’t begin until the Gates Mills intensive began. Instead of studying oceanography we began studying ocean life. It was amazing, and all of the knowledge we have gained lead to this moment.

There is so much to be excited for in the bahamas. We look forward to snorkeling on the first morning, and scuba diving next to beautiful marine life. We get explore the deserted ruins of hotels and visit the marina to watch the sharks. Biking around the huge road and completing our very first “run-swim”. Not to mention our amazing camping trip, spending nights under the stars and truly immersing ourselves in Bahamaland. And we can’t forget soaking in the sun while our parents are back at home. That might be the very best part.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves, before we can enjoy the sweet feeling of the bohemian air, we have to pack. Packing can range from a few hours to a few weeks (depending on what type of procrastinator you are). Though no matter who you are, packing is very hard. From keeping your luggage under the exact weight limit, to making sure you have everything you need is an uphill battle. We hope and hope we do not leave anything behind, but in the end, it's inevitable. For last minute shoppers like us. We end up in the scariest place of them all, target. Shopping for swimsuits that are out of season and rash guards that can only be but on amazon.

Last minute, Sunday night, Target purchasing adventure!

.
Even though packing is very tasking, it does make us feel like adults. The packing list requires meticulous concentration, and attention. It’s easy to pack the bigs things, such as rash guards or swimsuits. But it's harder to remember the little things like anti-itch cream and a flashlight. Either way, packing may just be the hardest part of this trip.

All of our items we have to pack!
But the packing day is now over, all we are left with are heavy suitcases and eager hearts. Bahamas here we come, we can’t wait to see you!!

In Travel,
Selena and Nicole
